Redefining Excellence: The Inaugural Brett Lang Invitational
Long Beach is about to witness a historic shift in the world of sports. On October 18–19, 2026, our city will host the Brett Lang Invitational, marking Long Beach’s first-ever elite adaptive golf tournament.
Hosted by the Joe Grohman Foundation and conducted under the governance of the North American One-Armed Golf Association (NAOAGA), this isn’t your typical charity scramble. We are bringing together the top one-armed golfers from across the country and around the world—athletes who compete at the highest levels of the game and redefine what excellence looks like in golf.
High-Performance. High Stakes.
The Brett Lang Invitational is a high-performance sporting event designed to challenge the narrative surrounding physical disability. These athletes aren’t just playing for fun; they are competing for championship glory, proving that physical challenges are no match for world-class skill and determination.
A Weekend of Connection & Competition
The event is structured to deliver a memorable gathering that honors excellence and purpose from start to finish.
-
Sunday, October 18: The Welcome Banquet The weekend begins at 4:00 PM at Recreation Park 18. This special evening brings together athletes, sponsors, and partners for a night of connection and anticipation, setting the tone for the elite competitive experience ahead.
-
Monday, October 19: Championship Play Tournament play officially tees off at 8:00 AM. Watch as elite athletes take the course in a pursuit of precision and grit.
-
Monday, October 19: The Grand Finale The event concludes in style with an Awards Cocktail Reception at The Boat House at 2:30 PM. This is where we recognize the athletes, share the stories of the weekend, and celebrate the lasting impact of the Invitational.
A Legacy of Inclusion
Beyond the leaderboard, this event is about driving meaningful change. The Invitational proudly supports four respected 501(c)(3) charities:
-
The Joe Grohman Foundation
-
Wounded Warriors & Adaptive Athletes
-
NAOAGA
-
The American Golf Foundation
Our long-term goal is to establish Long Beach as a permanent national tour stop for adaptive golf—a premier destination where athletes and families gather annually to celebrate resilience.
Professional Storytelling & Partnership
What truly sets this event apart is its professional storytelling. Through Golf News Channel, sponsors receive meaningful visibility through on-site recognition and professionally produced video content that lives well beyond tournament day.
We are intentionally limiting sponsorships to ensure authentic alignment and a strong return on investment. Combo Sponsor Packages (Event + Media) are currently available, offering unique opportunities to play alongside these adaptive athletes—a powerful, unforgettable experience.
